Initiative:
Masters Degree in International Trade Compliance
Status: Discussions Ongoing
Based on several
years of consistent feedback from students and members of the
global trade administration and compliance community there has
been and continues to be significant demand and need for a Masters
of Science Degree in International Trade (MS-IT). A draft outline
for the program description and course names is already in work
and further research is ongoing. A next step in the process is
for the Certification of Board of Governors (CBG) Ethics &
Professional Standards Committee (EPSC) to review the overall
program including standards, knowledge requirements and training
content.
The EPSC will
work with the trade industry and US Government in developing and
refining degree requirements. When complete, the EPSC will present
the final proposal recommendation to the CBG for review, approval
and implementation. Once implemented, the CBG and EPSC will monitor
and assess results of this initiative and the MS-IT’s standards,
knowledge requirements and training content and make changes as/if
necessary to insure goals are met and that the curriculum remains
current, relevant and responsive.
