STUDENT TESTIMONIALS:

“Taking the CUSECO pre-exam prep class from Pat and Natascha was key to my passing the exam. While I have been working in compliance for years, they helped me identify which areas I needed more guidance in and to focus upon when reviewing.“

Karen Wyman
Trade Compliance Manager- EO
Export/Import Department

—

“I would like to take a few minutes to share my experience with the CUSECO preparation course provided by Kazakis International and DL Exports.

Although I have over 30 years experience with Imports/Exports holding positions from entry clerk to branch manager, taking on a certification such as CUSECO requires additional guidance and focus not often obtained in day to day operations. Most become well read in what their immediate position requires yet the regulations are in constant change. The only way to know how and where to broaden our scope is with third party guidance.

Kazakis and DL did exactly that. They presented the ITAR and EAR in a fashion that made us think outside our comfort zone, look at ALL possibilities for ALL commodities and ALL situations. When I completed the second day, the material we covered and the knowledge I gained was so empowering, I left a much stronger compliance officer because of it.

Another positive was the different styles in how they presented material. Individually, they’re both wonderful but together, their communication and deliverance was powerful.

I am confident their preparation course was instrumental in my ability to obtain my certification and heard other’s say the same.

It’s been a wonderful experience, a pleasure working with you and look forward to connecting in the future.”

—

“The prep course did help me pass the exam. They gave us practice questions that we went over in class and they showed us how to find the answers in the regulations. I would recommend this prep course to other trade compliance professionals.”

Introduction to the Compliance Approved Provider (CAP) Program

Training and testing for Certified U.S. Export Compliance Officer® (CUSECO) got easier in 2011. Introduced last year at the request of industry, the Compliance Approved Provider (CAP) program was over two years in the making. It was developed to make training for industry certification testing easier and to make it available across the country to a wider audience.

Development of the CAP program required the pooling together many experts. First IIEI Certification had to have industry specialists develop the training materials sufficient to ensure that those receiving training from various providers received high quality training that delivered the level of knowledge needed to pass the exam for the Certified U.S. Export Compliance Officer® (CUSECO) designation.

It was equally critical that the training be condensed into a time frame that could fit into busy professional’s lives and also have the content of the training be manageable from the student’s perspective. Once the materials and support were in place, next we had to seek out and screen possible training providers. It was important to chose only the best partner organizations.

We are pleased to profile the first CAP, DL Exports International to offer training under this program in our premier issue of CertificationWatchTM. They have been very successful in offering the CUSECO training to their students.
