Online Certified Exporter® Exam

Online Certified Exporter® (CE) Examination – POLICIES/PROCEDURES:

Fill out the Certified Exporter® Examination Application online.

Please remember: the Examination Application must be submitted 30 days before the exam date.

  • Approved Providers (AP) must specify the examination location with an address and phone number. Also the name and email address of the Proctor overseeing the exam.
  • Selecting the Submit Button will send your Examination Application to IIEI Certification

In 5 business days IIEI Certification’s Accounting Department will submit an Invoice for payment and Wire Transfer Instructions.

  • Once payment is received, IIEI Certification will send confirmation of payment.

NextIIEI Certification will contact the Proctor listed on the Examination Application. This normally the AP.

  • Confirmation of the examination date will be sent to the Proctor along with a Sample Proctor Online Examination. The Sample Proctor Online Examination is a simple exam to check the Proctor’s computer internet connection and printer used for the examination and for the Proctor to see how the online test works.

The Proctor should receive a user name and password for each student scheduled to take the examination no later than four days before the scheduled test date. This allows time for the proctor to review all material and contact IIEI Certification with any questions or concerns.

  • Please Note: All students must have a personal email for the online test. If they do not have a personal email, inform the students they can go to Hotmail, GMail or Yahoo to set up a free email account.

Examination Day – Two Hour Examination

Proctor must set up each computer used in the examination.

1. Open up the internet

2. Click on the Certified Exporter® Examination link provided by IIEI Certification

- You have received a Username and Password for each exam taker.

3. Provide to each student their personal user name and password. Make sure the students only see their username and password.

  • Applicants should arrive at least 15 minutes prior from their approved start time.
  • The Certified Exporter® exam does not allow the test taker to bring materials into the exam. ( no books, pencils, notes, etc)
  • Students filling out their first and last name on the examination must spell it correctly since this name will appear on the Certification if they pass the exam.
  • Test takers will know immediately if they passed or failed the exam.
  • One official Certified Exporter® Certification will print out with their name at the end of the test.
  • If the student wants another Certified Exporter® Certification they can order it through IIEI Certification for an extra fee.

Proctor Information

Minimum Computer Requirements: (Check with IT department)

  • IBM compatibility for downloading, sending and receiving e-mail and accessing the Internet or MAC compatibility.
  • Computer capable of running operating systems Windows 2000 or higher or Apple / Mac equivalent
  • 256MB of RAM or more
  • VGA Monitor
  • Internet Service Provider (Cable / DSL or higher Recommended)
  • Web Browser [ (Internet Explorer 6 or higher) / Mozilla Firefox / Opera / Safari / Chrome ]
  • Adobe Flash Player Installed on Browser (http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/)
  • Proctor has E-mail capability [ For Registration-Receiving Test Information ]
  • Printer available and turned on to print Certifications once Passing Exams are completed.

Proctor Requirements & Duties

  • The Proctor must have basic computer skills to assist examinees with questions
  • The Proctor must have a strong commitment to exam security
  • Received all the Passwords and Usernames for the examination about 4 days before the exam date. 
  • Prior to exam day the Proctor has taken the “Sample AP Proctor Exam” to experience how the online exam works on the computer and be able to answer student questions on how to take the online exam.
  • To provide flexibility with computer lab time restraints and students unable to make an exam date, IIEI Certification will allow 10 days after the first scheduled examination date for Proctors to administer the online examinations.

Testing Environment Requirements

  • Verify the identify of each examinee
  • Only the proctor and students sitting for the exam are allowed in the computer room.
  • Make sure the examinee is logged into the online exam and understand that correct spelling of their name is important.  If they pass the exam, this name will appear on the (CE) Certification.
  • Verify that students sitting for the exam do not have books, pencils, electronic devices, cellular phones, or paper.  Wrist watch is allowed.
  • No talking is allowed between students during the examination period.  Only questions to the Proctor on how to use the online test format is allowed.
  • No other Computer Programs can be on during the examination time.
