BIOGRAPHY – Dave Bowman  (As of August 1st, 2005)

 

 

Mr. Bowman is Director, Global Trade Compliance for Bell Helicopter Textron based in
Fort Worth, Texas.  In this capacity, he is responsible for oversight of Bell’s global trade compliance program. 

 

Mr. Bowman came to Bell Helicopter Textron from Honeywell International where he managed the trade compliance function for Engines, Systems & Services (ESS) in Phoenix, Arizona.  Achievements included successfully driving the development of technology classification systems to support the company’s globalization initiatives.

 

Prior to joining Honeywell International, Mr. Bowman was Director of International Trade for Loral Space and Communications Corporation.  In this capacity, he was responsible for the oversight of worldwide export/import compliance and countertrade activities at Loral’s Skynet Division headquartered in Bedminster, New Jersey.  His responsibilities included:  developing and maintaining effective and efficient export/import control systems; administering the company’s overall licensing process; providing advisory support for all U.S. and foreign trade matters; advocating company positions before U.S. and foreign government officials; and structuring/ negotiating countertrade projects. 

 

Mr. Bowman has also served as Manager of International Contracts and Trade Compliance at ITT Industries’ Aerospace/Communications Division in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  He was charged with leading the division’s international business efforts.  His supervisory responsibilities included:  maintaining foreign customer and government relationships; preparing and negotiating company business proposals and industrial participation (offset) arrangements; and assuring company export/import compliance including the submission of requisite export license authorizations.  Also, Mr. Bowman served as a key member of ITT Industries’ International Trade Administration and Compliance Program.     

 

Mr. Bowman began his Contracts and Export/Import Compliance career at ITT Industries’ Cannon Division in Santa Ana, California.  Additionally, he was Program Manager at ITT Industries’ Cannon Division in Phoenix, Arizona overseeing the development and production of the electrical interconnect system currently utilized on the International Space Station.

 

He has an extensive financial and tax background having worked in the public accounting sector and for the Internal Revenue Service. 

 

Mr. Bowman holds a Master of Business Administration degree and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting, both from Arizona State University.
